About The Position

Lanier Technical College is seeking an Adjunct Psychology Instructor for various campus locations. This is a part-time, non-benefits eligible, FLSA-exempt position. The role involves providing professional instruction based on approved course syllabi, preparing curriculum, evaluating student progress, administering and grading examinations, and maintaining student records. The instructor will also attend in-service training, ensure safety and security in training areas, meet assigned deadlines, and interact with students, staff, and supervisors as needed. A background and reference check are part of the selection process. This position is available at all Lanier Tech campus locations, with day and evening classes offered. Adjunct faculty positions are temporary, part-time roles appointed on a per-academic term basis.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Psychology or master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Psychology and appropriate semester hours in specific course content from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Must work well in the classroom and in supervising diverse students in a variety of settings.
• Upload unofficial transcript(s) to be considered.

Nice To Haves

• Experience teaching in a postsecondary environment
• Experience teaching via online instruction
• Bilingual is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional instruction based on approved course syllabus.
• Ensures that desired course outcomes meet the stated objectives.
• Prepares curriculum and syllabus for coursework taught.
• Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives.
• Administers and grades class examinations.
• Maintains records of student grades.
• Attends in-service training, workshops and seminars, as needed.
• Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training areas.
• Meets ALL required deadlines assigned by Supervisor.
• Meets with students, staff members, supervisors as needed.
