About The Position

Wesleyan College is seeking an experienced instructor to teach in-person courses in our Psychology major. The most urgent need is for General Psychology. We are also accepting applications from candidates interested in filling potential future needs for Behavioral Statistics, Social Psychology, and as well as potential Special Topics courses that complement our current catalogue offerings. Wesleyan College, a four-year national liberal arts college for women, is located in Macon, Georgia, 70 miles south of Atlanta. Requirements

• Master's or doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited institution
• A minimum of two years of college-level teaching experience
• Experience designing and maintaining an LMS course site
• Required to submit copies of official transcripts (all degree levels) upon hire
• Eligibility to work in the United States
• Successfully passing a criminal background check

Responsibilities

• Teach course(s) conforming to departmental and institutional standards and expectations
• Communicate and uphold clear, consistent student learning outcomes, grading policies, and e-mail/message response practices throughout the term
• Maintain a student-friendly, ADA accessible, and up-to-date Canvas LMS course site
• Evaluate student achievement of specified learning outcomes and assign grades
• Post four-week, midterm, and final student grades according to College-specified deadlines
• Respond to student questions and learning needs in a respectful, compassionate, and timely manner
• Stay current regarding the professional body of knowledge in the field of practice
• Complete required administrative tasks according to College-specified deadlines, including: completing all hiring paperwork; signing instructor contract; submitting updated syllabus; posting attendance, grade, and student concern reports; and reporting institutional learning outcome data
• Other duties as assigned
