Adjunct, Neurodiagnostic Technology
About The Position
This is a Part-Time Faculty Pool for available assignments during the academic year. The position involves teaching and supervising students in Neurodiagnostic Technology, utilizing approved curriculum and effective teaching methods. Responsibilities include assessing student performance, providing feedback, advising students, supporting recruitment and retention efforts, participating in curriculum development and program assessment, maintaining professional relationships, completing required reports, and engaging in professional development. The role requires adherence to Alvin College policies and procedures, and other duties as assigned. A full job description will be provided to candidates selected for an interview. Compliance with SACSCOC requires uploading transcripts for all conferred degrees. Fingerprinting is required for local ISD's per the Texas Education Agency, with potential reimbursement. The employer and faculty member are subject to the Interlocal Agreement with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ), requiring compliance with TDCJ policies and security regulations when teaching within TDCJ facilities. Denial of access by TDCJ officials may lead to immediate termination. Alvin College is an equal opportunity institution. Working knowledge of AI tools is also required. Official transcripts/certifications must be provided within 30 days of hire. Foreign academic credentials require U.S. equivalency evaluation. Travel to main campus, offsite locations, local high schools, and TDCJ facilities may be required. A criminal history and/or motor vehicle records check is necessary.
Requirements
- Associate's degree or higher in Neurodiagnostic Technology OR Bachelor's degree or higher
- At least one of the following certifications: Electroencephalography (R. EEG T), Evoked Potential (R. EP T), Nerve Condition Studies (R. NCS T), Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM)
- Two (2) years of non-teaching (industry) work experience in Neurodiagnostics
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
- Intermediate computer skills
- Familiarity with interactive teaching methods
- Familiarity with instruction via the Internet
- Working knowledge of Blackboard course management system
- Working knowledge of artificial intelligence (AI) tools and the ability to use them responsibly, ethically, and in compliance with organizational guidelines.

Responsibilities
- Teach and supervise students using approved curriculum, syllabi, assessments, and instructional standards.
- Utilize effective teaching methods, technology, and educational resources to support student learning.
- Assess student performance, provide timely feedback, and maintain accurate instructional records.
- Advise and support students regarding academic progress and connect them with appropriate College resources.
- Support student recruitment, retention, engagement, and overall success.
- Participate in curriculum development, program assessment, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain positive and professional relationships with students, colleagues, administration, and the community.
- Complete required reports, forms, meetings, and institutional responsibilities in a timely manner.
- Participate in professional development and maintain current knowledge of effective instructional practices.
- Adhere to Alvin College policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
