About The Position

Unitek Learning is seeking an online General Education Instructor to teach courses in its ASVN, BSN, and RN to BSN degree-completion programs. The instructor may teach subjects including humanities, social sciences, English, communication and public speaking, math, statistics, chemistry, basic sciences, psychology, sociology, history, ethics, political science, and critical reasoning. The role involves teaching and developing coursework, improving instructional quality, supporting course and program assessment, and maintaining student records and communication. The instructor will deliver content through a Learning Management System and participate in professional development and quarterly online faculty meetings. This is a remote position.

Requirements

• Master's degree.
• Previous online teaching experience using a Learning Management System.
• Experience demonstrating the ability to mentor students and strong verbal and written communication skills.
• A documented background in educational methodology consistent with teaching assignments, including education theory and practice, current concepts related to the subjects taught, or current clinical practice experience.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Teach general education courses in the ASVN, BSN, and RN to BSN degree-completion programs.
• Develop coursework for assigned classes.
• Improve instructional quality by reviewing and applying innovative teaching methodologies and techniques.
• Assist with reviewing and revising syllabi and instructional guidelines.
• Evaluate student progress toward curriculum and course objectives and communicate progress to students in a timely manner.
• Assist with strategic planning and assessment of instructional initiatives to ensure program quality.
• Maintain student attendance and grade records and assist with program data collection.
• Use the Learning Management System to deliver relevant and current course content.
• Provide ongoing student communication through office hours, electronic communication, and other appropriate methods.
• Participate in professional development, maintain continuing education hours for renewed licensure if applicable, and stay current with college updates.
• Participate in quarterly online faculty meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Dean-Online Programs or Program Director-Online Nursing.
