About The Position

The Department of Rehabilitation & Health Services seeks qualified individuals for its Adjunct Instructor pool and welcomes applicants at any time. This posting is for the Spring 2027, and Summer 2027 semesters. The specific courses involved may vary from semester to semester and openings to teach these courses develop on aperiodic basis, depending on department teaching needs. The work assignments are associated with teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses whose duties may include 3000, 4000, and 5000-levelcourses in the following programs: Addiction Studies; Rehabilitation Studies; CACREP - Accredited Rehabilitation Counseling MS degree program.

Requirements

  • A Master’s degree from an accredited Rehabilitation Counseling program or closely related field.
  • A minimum of three years employment in Rehabilitation counseling, vocational rehabilitation, substance use, and/or mental health counseling or a closely related field.
  • Experience with online/hybrid/remote instruction.
  • Certified Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC) and/or TX Licensed Professional Counselor (TX-LPC).

Nice To Haves

  • Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Counseling or closely related field.
  • Higher education/university teaching experience.
  • Experience using the Canvas LMS platform.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses.
  • Supporting and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students.
