About The Position

This position is responsible for delivering quality instruction using integrative technologies. The role involves teaching courses via on-ground, evening, off-campus, and distance-based methods as assigned. Responsibilities include managing student grades, completing required college trainings and reports, maintaining communication via JSCC email, and submitting or updating class syllabi according to deadlines. The instructor must also comply with all college and TBR policies and guidelines.

Requirements

• A Master’s degree in Philosophy or a related field with at least eighteen (18) credit hours in graduate level Philosophy from an accredited institution.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

• Knowledge and/or experience using a variety of instructional delivery modes.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses via on ground as assigned. Teach evening, off-campus, and distance-based courses as required.
• Post grades during the term for student feedback and submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the Registrar.
• Complete required College trainings and complete all required reports such as attendance, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions and administer and return surveys by the required deadlines.
• Advise the Program Chair or Dean at the earliest possibility if you are unable to teach a class.
• Attend meetings as requested by the Program Chair and/or Dean.
• Comply with all the College’s and TBR’s policies and guidelines.
• Regularly check your JSCC email and your departmental mailbox. Respond to emails/messages within 48 hours except on the weekend.
• Submit class syllabus or update department syllabus at least 2 weeks prior to the first day of class or within seven days of the execution of contract.
