About The Position

Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC), founded in 1953 and located in scenic Upstate NY, is a multi-campus college with locations in Troy and Malta, New York. HVCC offers more than 80 degree and certificate programs across three schools: Business and Liberal Arts; Health Sciences; and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). As one of the 30 community colleges in the State University of New York (SUNY) system, HVCC serves nearly 9,000 students annually and is a recognized leader in career and transfer preparation, workforce training, distance learning, and serving a diverse student population. Hudson Valley seeks experienced, dynamic, capable, creative, and caring individuals to join its Adjunct Faculty team starting the Fall 2026 semester. Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or in an appropriate related field to Mathematics from an accredited college or university. Other Master’s Degrees considered if at least 15 credits in graduate level Mathematics courses have been completed.
  • Previous teaching experience is needed.
  • Willingness and ability to teach a variety of courses at various levels of Mathematics.
  • Daytime availability strongly encouraged.
  • Reliable transportation needed.
  • May include evening courses.
  • Must be either a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Lawful Permanent Resident of the United States.
  • Appointment will be contingent upon completion of a background check.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction in Mathematics.
  • Evaluate student performance.
  • Participation in departmental, division wide, and college wide committees for the purpose of building community and fulfilling aspirations of professional development is encouraged and supported.
  • At the direction of the Department Chairperson, faculty shall perform duties as specified in the Faculty Contract.
