The Culver Academies is seeking a Mathematics Instructor to join its community of learners starting in the fall of 2026. The primary teaching assignment involves teaching two eighty-minute blocks each day, with instructors responsible for approximately 30 students at any given time. Beyond classroom instruction, the role requires collaboration in weekly level team and biweekly department meetings, weekly participation in the department math help center, and engagement in a monthly interdisciplinary learning community. Instructors are also expected to support students' experiences outside the classroom by assisting with athletics or residential life and serving as a mentor to a small group of students. Math classrooms at Culver are competency-based and student-centered, built on constructivist principles. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching mathematics using an inquiry-based curriculum, focusing on developing students' mathematical thinking, and will be comfortable guiding students across all courses from Pre-Algebra through Calculus. An interest in designing curriculum that aligns with constructivist principles and targets specific competencies is also desired. Professional development opportunities are available, including off-campus workshops, conferences, graduate work, research, faculty-developed curriculum projects, and on-campus teacher forums. Successful candidates must demonstrate a commitment to fostering belonging and inclusion, align with Culver’s Teaching and Learning Model, and support the Commitments of a Culver Educator.
