About The Position

The overall purpose of the Instructor of Mathematics is to teach college and learning support level mathematics courses.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree with a minimum of 18 credit hours in mathematics from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Successful higher education or high school teaching experience in mathematics. (Graduate assistance experience is also accepted.)
  • Experience working with graphing calculators, computerized instructional equipment and materials, or mobile devices to enhance the learning experience.
  • Ability to communicate and develop effective interpersonal relationships with faculty, staff, and students.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree or PhD. in Mathematics.
  • Three years or more related teaching experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teach day and/or evening classes, both off and on campuses to include dual enrollment classes at area high schools in conventional and alternate delivery modes (e.g., web-based, virtual, accelerated schedule).
  • Participate in advising, retention, and student success initiatives to support the WSCC Mission and Vision.
  • Participate in curriculum development, student recruiting, departmental meetings and college committees.
  • Complete goals and objectives for the individual and division in support of the WSCC Mission and Vision.
  • Complete educational outcome measures and academic reporting as required.
  • Participate in professional growth, leadership and community involvement to support the WSCC Mission and Vision.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
