About Jefferson Community College: Come work in beautiful northern New York at Jefferson Community College located in Watertown, New York, near the shores of Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River. One of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York (SUNY) system, Jefferson serves students pursuing credit courses in liberal arts, business, math, science, allied health and technology for transfer or career purposes. We also offer a multitude of workshops for professional training, personal development, and youth. Job Description: The Arts and Humanities Department at Jefferson Community College is seeking part-time adjunct faculty to grow our adjunct pool. Candidates are needed to teach the following courses either on campus, online, and/or live online (Synchronous Teams) beginning Spring 2027: ASL 121 American Sign Language 1 ASL 122 American Sign Language 2
Requirements
- Master's Degree in American Sign Language (or a closely related field) and/or native signer.
- Applicants must interact and communicate effectively with diverse populations, foster inclusion, and promote equal access and treatment for groups traditionally underrepresented in higher education.
- Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S.
Nice To Haves
- Prior teaching experience at the college level is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Teach ASL 121 American Sign Language 1
- Teach ASL 122 American Sign Language 2
- Teach either on campus, online, and/or live online (Synchronous Teams)
Benefits
- Level A - $665/credit hour
- Level B - $785/credit hour after teaching 6 semesters at Jefferson.
