About The Position

Springfield Technical Community College (STCC) is seeking candidates for an Adjunct Instructor, History position. This is a candidate pool for anticipated vacancies for the 2024-2025 school year. Resume reviews and interviews will occur on a quarterly basis. Successful candidates will be placed into the active candidate pool and may be notified when there is an adjunct instructor opening for immediate hire. Adjunct Instructor positions are part-time, semester-to-semester, non-benefited MCCC/MTA/DCE unit positions. STCC is a major resource for the economic vitality of Western Massachusetts, offering a variety of career programs and highly-regarded transfer programs. Requirements

Master's degree in history or master's degree in a related field and 18 credits of graduate level work specific to history.
College teaching experience, high school teaching experience, or adult education experience.

Responsibilities

Teaches a standard range of courses expected in the first two years of a degree program in the field.
Conducts on campus day, evening and online classes.
Prepares for instruction.
Assesses student performance.
Provides student assistance by appointment.
Engages in professional development and required trainings.
Attends a limited number of faculty meetings.
