About The Position

The University of Southern Mississippi is currently accepting applications for the position of Adjunct Instructor - Elementary Education. Elementary Education Adjunct Faculty assist with the instructional delivery of courses taken by program majors. Elementary Education adjunct faculty teach up to 6 hours [2 – 3hour courses] per semester. Typical courses focus on reading/literacy, classroom management, and math.

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree from an accredited college or university in Elementary Education is required for teaching graduate level courses.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate with all groups of individuals in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work with a diverse team in diverse settings.
  • Experience with online learning platforms.
  • Experience setting clear performance expectations and provision of meaningful feedback.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for visa sponsorship. The University will not sponsor applicants for work visas (e.g., H-1B).

  • Demonstrated success in university teaching is preferred.
