About The Position

The Department of Economics at the University of North Texas is seeking a qualified individual to serve as an adjunct instructor. This role will involve teaching an in-person section of the history of economic thought course during the Fall 2026 and/or Spring 2027 semesters. The course focuses on the development of economic thinking from early philosophers through the classical and neoclassical schools of thought. It is an upper-level elective typically enrolling between 25-40 students.

Requirements

  • MA or MS in Economics for undergraduate courses.
  • Ph.D. in Economics for graduate courses.
  • Communicating with others to exchange information.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of teaching experience at a university or community college.
  • Previous experience teaching a history of economic thought class.

Responsibilities

  • Teach an in-person section of the history of economic thought course.
  • Focus the course on the development of economic thinking from early philosophers through the development of the classical and neoclassical schools of thought.
