About The Position

We are seeking enthusiastic and passionate data professionals to join our team of adjunct instructors. We are accepting applications from individuals who meet our minimum qualifications and can provide instruction within the area of Business Information Technology. We are specifically seeking instructors to teach one or more of the following courses: Term 1, beginning January 2027: Data Concepts or Intro to SQL. Term 2, beginning March 2027: Database Administration. Applicants do not need to be available to teach courses in both terms. Pay will vary by course being taught.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in IT or related field
  • Twenty-four months (4000 hours) of verifiable occupational experience; Occupational area, of which 2,000 hours shall be within the previous five years.
  • Ability to deliver instruction using active learning methods which accommodate different learning styles including online modalities.
  • Ability to plan, select, prepare and implement appropriate active learning activities to meet all course competencies.
  • Good oral/written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain competency in the occupational field.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience working with diverse populations.
  • Working knowledge of computer concepts and incorporation of technology in the learning environment.
  • For Data Concepts: 3+ years data experience, with knowledge of Excel, Power BI, Access reporting, and basic data literacy skills.
  • For Intro to SQL: 3+ years working with SQL required, SQL Server preferred.
  • For Database Administration: 3+ years managing SQL Server databases and servers, with both on-prem and Azure experience as well as basic Windows Server management skills desired.
  • Must be a Wisconsin resident.
  • Must be available to teach on the Pewaukee, WI campus.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred
  • One year (2000 hours) of related experience in the appropriate field may be waived if the occupational instructor has at least two years of post-secondary teaching experience in the occupational field within the last five years.
  • Ideally have five or more years of industry experience in database, data & analytics.
  • While experience teaching or conducting training programs is beneficial, it is not a requirement.
  • Previous teaching experience is desirable.
  • Basic Windows Server management skills desired.

  • Providing instruction to students within the assigned and approved instructional delivery system and in accordance with the mission, goals, policies and procedures of the District.
  • Providing an active learning environment to enable students to demonstrate course competencies.
  • Creating a student learning centered environment that places learning at the center of educational experiences in our classroom on the Pewaukee Campus.
  • Supporting students within our growing data & analytics degree program.
  • Being accessible to students.
  • Maintaining positive relationships with industry-related organizations and businesses.
  • Teaching traditional, accelerated and Zoom courses in the evening.
