Purpose of Role This course is the third in the series of five clinical exposures that are coordinated and mentored by academic faculty currently teaching in the specialty content in the campus-based didactic coursework, and adjunct faculty working in the specialty area. These brief, regular exposures to clinical practice will afford the student, while working in a small team, the opportunity to observe and engage in the practice of neuromuscular physical therapy, further developing cognitive, affective and psychomotor skills acquired in lecture and laboratory experiences. Requirements

  • DPT degree
  • Current NYS PT License
  • Experience in a neuromuscular rehabilitation PT setting

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced clinical training/certification beyond a DPT degree

Responsibilities

  • Instruction, supervision, and mentorship, both cognitive and psychomotor, provided to second-year professional phase DPT students in the management and provision of care to individuals with neuromuscular disorders.
