University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) seeks adjunct faculty to teach on-site at California, MD, for the Psychology program. Specifically, the following course(s): Introduction to Psychology (PSYC 100): A survey of the basic principles, research concepts, and problems in psychological science. The biological, cognitive, and social perspectives of human thought and behavior are addressed. The goal is to apply major concepts and use the scientific method to enhance the understanding of individual, community, and organizational life experiences. Topics include neuroscience, sensation and perception, learning and conditioning, memory, motivation, language and intelligence, personality and social behavior, and psychopathology and therapy. Applications of psychology are also presented. UMGC is a mission-driven institution dedicated to serving adult learners, including approximately 90,000 students globally. The typical UMGC student is an adult learner juggling a career, family, and other priorities, with roughly 80% working full time. UMGC is also a leading higher education provider to the U.S. military.
