About The Position

Lesley University's Department of Psychology+ is seeking a highly qualified adjunct faculty member to teach CPSYC 2551 - Concepts and Skills of Professional Practice during the Fall Semester of 2026. This in-person, on-campus course meets on Mondays and Wednesdays from 11:10 am to 12:15 pm. The course focuses on developing communication and clinical skills, including interviewing, case study, and professional conduct. It also covers the ethics governing professional services, with a particular emphasis on social services in diverse communities. A key component is the internship, where students integrate theory with clinical skills in practice, requiring a minimum of 90 hours in the field throughout the semester. Students are expected to have secured an internship site before the course begins.

Requirements

A Master’s degree in Psychology or a related field.
Demonstrated success teaching at the undergraduate level.
Commitment to student-centered, inclusive, and equitable teaching practices.
Experience in constructivist, inquiry-based learning.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Students should have secured an internship site before the start of the course.

Nice To Haves

PhD or terminal degree.
Practice experience in Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, or a related field.

Responsibilities

Teach CPSYC 2551 - Concepts and Skills of Professional Practice.
