About The Position

UMGC Europe is hiring an Adjunct Faculty member to teach Biology and Nutrition courses on-site at SHAPE in Belgium. This role is intended for local applicants; UMGC does not provide logistical support, and applicants must have and maintain their own legal status in the country where they teach. Candidates must be able to travel reliably to assigned locations and perform on-site responsibilities. Adjunct faculty teach using UMGC’s standardized, pre-designed courses and provided rubrics, open educational resources, library resources, and digital textbooks. The role centers on mentoring students, facilitating learning, providing feedback, and connecting course concepts with professional experience. Courses in UMGC Europe and UMGC Asia may be delivered face-to-face, online, hybrid, or by live streaming, depending on location and program. Most courses use accelerated eight-week sessions, and the position requires substantial engagement throughout the term to support students’ academic, social, personal, and professional growth. Newly hired faculty receive an online orientation and ongoing professional development. Applicants should submit a resume or CV and unofficial transcripts; a cover letter is highly preferred and the posting also states that submissions should include one. Candidates with international degrees may be asked to provide a translation or degree evaluation from a NACES-approved vendor.
