About The Position

The Department of Teacher Education at Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU) is seeking applications for adjunct faculty positions for the 2025-2026 academic year. These part-time roles will involve teaching various on-campus undergraduate courses starting in Fall 2025. Course areas include classroom management, elementary literacy, mathematics, social studies, science, early childhood education, special education, technologies in elementary educational settings, and field course instruction and placement. Successful candidates will be expected to utilize online learning management systems (e.g., Canvas) and demonstrate availability for on-campus instruction.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or equivalent (e.g., completion of graduate level specialist program with experience as curriculum specialist/coach) in Early Childhood, Elementary Education, Special Education, Reading, or other related field.
  • Three years of successful classroom experience as a teacher within prek-6th grades.
  • Curriculum vitae and cover letter that outlines teaching experience and areas of certification.

Responsibilities
