About The Position

Rowan University's Journalism Department is seeking qualified adjuncts to teach undergraduate courses as part of our Sports Communication & Media program. The program covers a range of specialized areas within sports communication and media. All courses will be taught on the main campus in Glassboro, New Jersey. The ability to teach during the day is preferred. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US, and the university will not sponsor an applicant for a work visa for this promotion.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Relevant professional or academic experience.
  • Ability to teach during the day is preferred.

  • A track record of successful teaching is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate courses in Sports Journalism, Sports Betting, Sports Broadcasting, Sports Analytics/Data, Social Media Sports Communication, Sports Law, Sports Branding and Fan Relations, or Sports Leadership.
  • Assign courses to instructors by College of Department on an as-needed basis.

Benefits

  • Minimum of $2,225 per credit (after 9/1/2026)
  • Maximum teaching load of 8 credits per semester
  • Maximum teaching load of 12 credits in an academic year
