About The Position

Regent University’s School of Education is seeking adjunct faculty for chairing dissertations for doctoral candidates in all concentrations enrolled in the Doctor of Education and Doctor of Philosophy programs. Chairs will supervise candidates conducting dissertation research, provide support, and guide candidates throughout the entire process.

Requirements

  • An Ed.D. or Ph.D. in Education.
  • A degree from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
  • Completed a traditional qualitative or quantitative dissertation.
  • Prior experience as a dissertation chair or committee member.
  • Demonstrated experience in qualitative or quantitative research methods in the field.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in APA Style, specifically the 7th edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office (specifically Word), Canvas or Blackboard, and the internet.

  • A record of, or potential for, academic scholarship.
  • The ability to teach undergraduate-level courses.
  • Facility with online instructional technology.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise candidates conducting dissertation research.
  • Provide support and guidance to candidates throughout the entire dissertation process.
  • Review candidates' manuscripts within two weeks and provide practical and constructive feedback.
  • Ensure candidates follow the procedures within the Dissertation Handbook.
  • Respond to student emails within 24 hours on weekdays.
  • Complete all requirements as mandated by Regent University Human Resources and the School of Education.
