About The Position

Plymouth State University (PSU) is seeking an Adjunct Faculty member to teach Piano Performance Studies. This role involves providing one-on-one lessons for piano majors, focusing on refining their skills, addressing areas for improvement, and fostering a supportive learning environment. The instructor will also identify students needing additional support and encourage them to challenge themselves. PSU is a dynamic university organized around integrated clusters, aiming to provide an interdisciplinary and innovative learning environment. Located in the heart of New Hampshire's Lakes Region and White Mountains, PSU serves approximately 4,300 undergraduate and over 2,000 graduate students.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree
  • Proficiency in instrument of specialty.
  • Ability to work well with students.
  • Ability to work with multiple schedules.

Nice To Haves

  • 3-5 years prior teaching experience at the University level or in a private studio.
  • Master’s degree (minimum) in instrument of specialty, in pedagogy, performance or Music Ed.
  • Some professional performance experience.

Responsibilities

  • Arrange one on one meetings with students to practice and refine skills.
