Adjunct Faculty, Department of Communication Studies
About The Position
This is a general posting that will serve to create a pool of applicants for adjunct faculty openings throughout the 2026-2027 academic year. The Department of Communication Studies calls students to engage communication meaningfully, creatively, ethically, and with intellectual curiosity, in order to enhance their personal and public lives, as well as contribute to a sustainable common good. The department offers a BA and a minor in communication studies, and we are seeking adjunct instructors to expand our capacity to serve our programs. Classes run in 10-week sessions. Adjunct instructors are needed to teach a variety of communication studies courses across the academic year. Instructors may be hired to teach one course or multiple courses.
Requirements
- M.A. in communication studies or related field
- Experience teaching communication studies courses at the university level
Nice To Haves
- Ph.D. in communication studies
Responsibilities
- Teaching classes, primarily in a fully in-person modality
- Grading student work
- Meeting with students during office hours and corresponding with students via e-mail
