About The Position

Saint Joseph’s University (SJU) is seeking adjunct instructors to complement the work of full-time faculty across its colleges and schools. SJU appoints part-time, non-tenure track adjunct instructors on a semester-to-semester basis with no guarantee of consecutive appointments. Re-appointment is based on university need, student enrollment, and satisfactory performance. Applicants for these positions are screened on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year. Teaching responsibilities are assigned by the department chair. Compensation for adjunct instructors is commensurate with educational credentials, professional experience, and instructional background. Adjunct instructors are bound to the terms and conditions of employment at Saint Joseph’s University, including but not limited to the Faculty Handbook.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support and guidance to students
  • Instruct an assigned course providing syllabi and other instructional materials
  • Use of university learning management systems to deliver instruction
  • Give one on one piano lessons and ensemble performance instruction.
  • Organize and administer juries and end-of-semester performances.
  • Collaborate with the Chair of Music & Theatre.
