About The Position
SUNY Sullivan is seeking a part-time adjunct faculty member for the Medical Assistant program within the Health Sciences Department. The ideal candidate will be able to teach in seated, hybrid, and clinical settings. Preference will be given to those who align with the community college philosophy, foster a culture of belonging, and are enthusiastic about student success. This role reports to the Director of Nursing, and classes may be scheduled for day, evening, or weekend sessions.
Requirements
- Master's from an accredited institution
- Professional work experience within the field
- License in the subject area, where applicable
- At least 3 years of teaching experience
- Ability to teach various modalities
- Experience with learning management systems such as Brightspace

- Prior online course instruction
- Doctorate/terminal degree
- Experience in higher education
Responsibilities
- Teach the required curriculum.
- Correct submitted assignments within a week of receipt.
- Provide instruction, assessment, and mentor students.
- Work with the Director of Nursing Programs to develop a curriculum.
- Process attendance and grades per college policies and procedures.
- Hold regular open office hours. These can be completed in person, by telephone, or via Zoom.
