About The Position

SUNY Sullivan is accepting applications for a part-time adjunct position in the Medical Assistant program within the Health Sciences Department. The position requires the ability to teach in seated, hybrid, and clinical environments. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate commitment to the community college philosophy and a culture of belonging, as well as enthusiasm for student success. The position reports to the Director of Nursing. Class openings are available during the day, evening, or weekend.

Compensation is determined by the candidate’s rank at SUNY Sullivan, based on teaching experience, education, and other factors. The full salary range is $655 to $740 per contact hour/course credit per semester. Requirements

• Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Professional work experience in the field.
• License in the subject area, where applicable.
• At least three years of teaching experience.
• Ability to teach in seated, hybrid, and clinical environments.
• Ability to teach in various modalities.
• Experience with learning management systems such as Brightspace.
• Prior online course instruction.

Responsibilities

• Teach the required curriculum.
• Correct submitted assignments within one week of receipt.
• Provide instruction and assessment, and mentor students.
• Work with the Director of Nursing Programs to develop curriculum.
• Process attendance and grades in accordance with college policies and procedures.
• Hold regular open office hours, in person, by telephone, or via Zoom.
