About The Position

York County Community College is seeking a part-time, in-person Adjunct Faculty Instructor for its Electrical Technology department to teach the PLC Academy Intermediate to Advanced course in Spring 2027. The role delivers hands-on technical training in advanced automation, closed-loop process tracking, and industrial communication architectures, with a focus on applications using Rockwell Automation Connected Components Workbench (CCW). The instructor prepares students to design, program, and deploy functional automated cells using Micro800 controllers and related hardware. The position is based at YCCC's Center of Excellence in Manufacturing & Trades in Sanford, Maine, and pays $1,142.39 per credit hour. The position is not eligible for benefits. The instructor will teach advanced programming in Ladder Diagram (LD), Function Block Diagram (FBD), and Structured Text (ST); guide students in building and tuning Micro800 PID loops; lead EtherNet/IP communication labs; and teach HMI development for PanelView 800 terminals. The role also oversees capstone projects involving functional multi-device automated cells, evaluates student work, provides technical feedback, and maintains lab safety and equipment standards. General adjunct duties include delivering engaging instruction, preparing and updating course materials, supporting and advising students, assessing learning, collaborating with colleagues, contributing to curriculum development, participating in professional development and required meetings, and maintaining accurate attendance, grading, and reporting records. Courses are taught in person on the Sanford campus. The schedule is Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., during the Spring 2027 semester. The position is available until filled and is contingent on successful completion of a criminal background check and professional references. Candidates must be eligible and remain eligible to work in the United States; YCCC does not provide visa sponsorship.
