About The Position

Full Sail University’s Instructional Design and Technology Master of Science program provides students with a hands-on, project-based experience focused on research, learning theories, curriculum development, instructional design processes, and media asset creation. Students develop, design, and produce engaging instructional content using a variety of software applications for corporate training and academic environments as they simultaneously develop their writing, time management, and team-building skills.

Requirements

Candidates for this position must be well-versed in graphic design, writing, and instructional design theories and practice.
Minimum of four (4) years related and verifiable work experience in instructional design for corporate training environments and electronic media asset creation with a focus on visual design and writing for instruction.
A Doctorate degree in Instructional Design, Curriculum Development or Higher Education is required or a related terminal degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in an appropriate combination from the following subject areas: Education, Instructional Design, Communication Design, and Training and Development.
Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including proofreading and editing for grammar and punctuation
Detail oriented
Ability to multi-task while working independently and collaboratively with other teachers and university staff
Ability to interact professionally and constructively with students and staff at all levels in an immersive, fast-paced environment
Communication, teamwork, and flexibility/adaptability
Empathy toward student issues/concerns
Proficiency using software programs such as MS Word, Excel, Keynote/PowerPoint, Outlook, and in creating effective and engaging course assets using the Adobe Creative Cloud applications
Experience in designing and presenting live and virtual training sessions

Nice To Haves

Professional experience in creating interactive media, podcasts, instructional video, and educational games is preferred.
Association for Talent Development certification or being a Certified Professional in Learning and Performance preferred.

Responsibilities

Create an environment of learning through effective teaching skills, maintain student-centered focus, and stay current with relevant industry standards.
Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and encourage active learning.
Perform lectures for campus courses, and hold scheduled virtual course meetings for online courses. Teaching will be conducted through on-campus and online delivery.
Interact positively with diverse student populations; provide all students with equal opportunities for learning.
Demonstrate a commitment to the industry, maintain knowledge and skill relevancy through continuing education as defined in the faculty development plan.
