About The Position

Grand Canyon University is seeking an adjunct faculty member for the College of Theology to shape the futures of its students. The College of Theology offers bachelor's and master's degrees in Christian Studies with specializations including Youth Ministry, Pastoral Ministry, Biblical Studies, and Christian Leadership. As an adjunct faculty member, the role involves providing program instruction, incorporating innovative teaching methodologies, cutting-edge technologies, and industry trends relevant to the discipline. The university operates with a Christ-centered worldview, integrating faith, learning, and work, and values diversity among its community members. This specific position is for the Fall 2026 Semester (09/08/2026 - 12/13/2026) and focuses on the Gospels and Acts course. This course is an exegetical study of the initial books of the New Testament, emphasizing the application of hermeneutical principles, interpretation of selected passages, textual issues, and major theological themes.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's in divinity (preferred) or Master's in Theology or Master's in Christian Studies with at least 12 graduate credits in New Testament history and literature from an accredited college or university
  • At least 2 or more years professional experience in the pastorate or teaching The Gospels and Acts at the postsecondary level

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate classroom lecture and discussions
  • Engage students in learning course objectives and topics
  • Assess student performance and mentor success in the classroom
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission of Grand Canyon University
