About The Position

Strayer University is seeking a dynamic Adjunct Faculty member to join their academics team. This role involves teaching graduate-level Finance classes in a hybrid format, combining in-person and asynchronous online instruction. The faculty member will serve as an instructor, coach, and mentor, aiming to foster a love of learning and support diverse learning styles. The position emphasizes building strong faculty-student relationships and a classroom community. The role requires teaching from a pre-designed curriculum, enhancing it with technology, and being available to students for feedback and support.

Requirements

Demonstrated knowledge of academic technology.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) software and overall computer skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of academic evaluation.
Proficiency in oral presentation skills, planning, and organizing of course objectives.
Must have strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Effective time management skills.
5 years Professional Experience in a Finance-related field.
Doctorate in Finance or a Finance-related discipline required, or Doctorate in Business-related discipline with a Masters in Finance or a Finance-related discipline required.
Must be able to travel weekly to required location(s).
Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
Access information using a computer.
Effectively communicate, both up and down the management chain.
Effectively cope with stressful situations.
Strong mental acuity.
Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this job.

Responsibilities

Teach assigned courses in person and asynchronously online.
Maintain office hours as assigned.
Provide quality education and maintain high standards of academic excellence.
Enhance the strength and effectiveness of the curriculum using technology and videos.
Arrive on-campus at least half an hour prior to the start time of in-person sessions.
Utilize the online learning platform to enrich the student learning experience.
Be available to students via email, phone, text, and office hours.
Establish high standards and ensure students understand how they will be evaluated.
Adhere to University policies and procedures.
Attend faculty meetings and workshops or training as required.
