About The Position

Provides quality education and maintains high standards of academic excellence in teaching assigned courses in the discipline. The Adjunct hybrid faculty roles teach assigned courses in person and asynchronously online. This role also maintains office hours as assigned. Strayer University is seeking a dynamic Adjunct Faculty member to join their academics team, specifically for a graduate level Accounting class for the upcoming Summer quarter, starting July 6, 2026, in a hybrid format. The hybrid format involves 11 in-person meeting sessions for 2 hours every week held at a predetermined scheduled time (day/evening) at a specific Strayer University Campus, with the balance of the course instructed asynchronously online. Strayer Adjunct Faculty are expected to be not just instructors, but also coaches and mentors, striving to ignite a life-long love of learning in students and being flexible with their diverse learning styles. The university believes in a strong faculty-student relationship and building a community in the classroom.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge of academic technology.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) software and overall computer skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of academic evaluation.
  • Proficiency in oral presentation skills, planning, and organizing of course objectives.
  • Must have strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Doctorate in Accounting or an Accounting-related discipline required, or Doctorate in Business-related discipline with a Masters in Accounting or an Accounting-related discipline required.
  • Must be able to travel weekly to required location(s).
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses as assigned from a pre-designed curriculum and utilize your professional expertise to provide high-quality instruction.
  • Enhance the strength and effectiveness of the curriculum using technology and videos.
  • Arrive on-campus at least half an hour prior to the start time of in-person sessions per week during the academic quarter.
  • Utilize the online learning platform to enrich the student learning experience for the online component of the course.
  • Be available to students via email, phone, text, and office hours to ensure students receive quality feedback in a timely manner to support their academic success.
  • Establish high standards and ensure students understand how they will be evaluated.
  • Adhere to University policies and procedures.
  • Attend faculty meetings and workshops or training as required.
