University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) seeks adjunct faculty to teach on-site at Minot Air Force Base, ND, for the Finance and Economics program. Specifically, the role involves teaching Principles of Macroeconomics (ECON 201), an introductory study of the macroeconomy. The objective of this course is to apply select macroeconomic theories to real-world situations, covering economic growth, technological innovation, unemployment, inflation, and the roles of monetary policy and fiscal policy in determining macroeconomic performance.UMGC, one of 12 degree-granting institutions in the University System of Maryland (USM), is a mission-driven institution guided by seven core values, with "Students First" at the top. Faculty members are expected to actively engage students, guide them in collaborative and project-based learning, provide constructive feedback using rubrics, demonstrate current subject-matter expertise, help students connect concepts across their academic program, and offer feedback on curricular improvements to their program chair. New faculty members are required to complete a two-week online new faculty orientation, FacDev 411, as a condition of hire.
