About The Position

Northern Essex Community College (NECC) is seeking instructors for its pool of Adjunct Faculty to teach various English composition courses on an as-needed basis for the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 Semesters. Successful applicants will be assigned to teach 3-credit courses in English Composition I or English Composition II. Classes are held on NECC's Haverhill and/or Lawrence campuses. The college is seeking instructors for primarily day and evening face-to-face classes, which could include Early College classes. Future possibilities of online or hybrid instruction exist and would require successful completion of mandatory training. Adjunct faculty will play a critical role in the teaching and learning process, contributing to student success.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in English, Writing, or Literature
  • Experience teaching in a related academic discipline at the college level
  • Experience using technology in instruction and assessment
  • CORI and SORI check as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned courses according to Academic Catalog description and established departmental student learning outcomes.
  • Adhere to all NECC policies and MCCC contract requirements, including policies regarding grading, deadlines, evaluation process, syllabus requirements, materials posted on the LMS, and required meetings.
