Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a related field and teaching experience unless otherwise indicated.
  • Proficiency in a Learning Management System is required, consistent with University guidelines.
  • Current active License Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) licensure is required for Marriage & Family Therapy positions.
  • Must establish a principal residence in New Jersey within 365 days of the effective date of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates who are Qualified Supervisors in New Jersey is preferred.
  • Candidates with an ABD, Ed.D., Ph.D. or other acceptable disciplinary doctorate are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in the field of psychology at both the undergraduate and graduate level at the Union Campus, Jersey City or Kean Ocean campus. Areas of study include General Psychology, Statistics, Tests and Measurements, Research Methods and other specialty areas such as Physiological Psychology, Industrial and Organizational (IO) Psychology and Forensic Psychology.
  • Teach courses such as Family Systems, Theories and Techniques, Foundations of Family Therapy, Marital Therapy, Treatment Issues in Couples and Family Therapy, Group Practice in Family Therapy, Human Diversity in Marriage and Family Therapy or Clinical Practium.
  • Provide at least one (1) hour of availability outside of the classroom per week for the duration of each semester/session taught by the adjunct faculty member for each three (3) or four (4) credit class taught.
  • Provide an additional thirty (30) minutes of availability for each additional class taught during the semester/session.
  • Provide at least thirty (30) minutes of availability outside of the classroom per week for the duration of each semester/session taught by the adjunct faculty member if teaching fewer than three (3) credits.
  • May, at their discretion, provide additional office hours beyond the amounts required.
