About The Position

The Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) Instructor is responsible for providing high-quality instruction in drafting, design, and computer-aided design technologies.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, Architecture, Manufacturing Technology, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of industry experience utilizing CAD software.
  • Demonstrate knowledge, experience, or evidence of a commitment to inclusivity and excellence in teaching methodologies that effectively engage our diverse student population.
  • Experience with instructional technologies, including presentation software and learning management systems (i.e., Blackboard).
  • Proficiency with technology and written, verbal, and interpersonal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD), including 2D and 3D design applications.
  • Provide instruction in industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, Inventor, Civil 3D, or similar programs.
  • Develop and/or follow established course syllabi, lesson plans, and instructional materials
  • Assess student learning through assignments, exams, and practical evaluations
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and proper use of equipment
  • Participate in departmental meetings and training as required
