About The Position

The College of Nursing and Health Care Professions at GCU is seeking knowledgeable, mission-driven Adjunct Faculty to teach Ethical Practice in Public Health on our Main Campus. The purpose of this course is to examine ethical approaches to working in diverse teams, across cultures, and with vulnerable populations. Students explore ethical issues related to community-based research and public health programming, along with approaches to navigate through ethical dilemmas. This course covers how professionalism and human rights guide decisions that lead to a respect for others and social justice.

Requirements

  • A Master’s Degree (or higher) in Public Health.
  • Exceptions can be made for individuals with a related degree, such as a Master’s in health education, plus two years of public health practice experience related to course content
  • Must be able to teach at the Phoenix Main Campus Tuesdays and Thursdays 1 PM -2:45 PM, from 1/4/2027-4/25/2027.
  • Must successfully pass a drug screen.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build supportive relationships with students
  • Proficiency in English, grammar, and APA writing
  • Commitment to modeling GCU’s mission and values

Nice To Haves

  • Doctorate in public health or related discipline such as health education, population or community health, health care administration, or social sciences.
  • CHES or MCHES certification

  • Deliver engaging, high-quality instruction using innovative teaching methods and current industry technologies
  • Maintain compliance with accreditation standards
  • Model the holistic tenets of the nursing profession and uphold the University’s mission and pillars
  • Facilitate meaningful classroom discussions, assess student learning, and prepare students for leadership roles in health care
  • Support program initiatives and demonstrate alignment with the philosophy and direction of the University
