About The Position

The College of Nursing and Health Care Professions at GCU is seeking a FPN Adjunct to provide feedback on student’s health assessment skills when interacting with a standardized patient. This role involves staying current with new trends in the field, providing constructive feedback to students on their health assessment techniques, diagnostic reasoning, and treatment protocols. The adjunct will receive patient interaction reports in SOAP format from students and provide feedback to simulation staff on standardized patient interactions and scenario development. Additionally, the role requires maintaining compliance with program accreditation requirements, upholding the tenets of nursing and the university's pillars, and supporting the university program in all areas, demonstrating congruence with the institution's philosophy and direction, and serving the community. A key aspect of the role is to provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in nursing (FNP, ACNP), DO, MD, Master’s prepared Physician’s Assistant.
  • Nurses must maintain an active, current, and unencumbered RN license.
  • Current board certification required in area of practice.
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
  • Successfully pass a drug screen.
  • Proficient in English, Grammar, and writing in APA format.
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.

Responsibilities

  • Remain current with new trends and development in your field of expertise
  • Provide positive feedback and recommendations for improvement to the student about health assessment techniques, diagnostic reasoning, and treatment protocols.
  • Receive report from student of patient interaction, in SOAP format.
  • Provide feedback to simulation staff about standardized patient interaction, and recommendations for future development of scenarios.
  • Maintain compliance with requirements for program accreditation
