About The Position

The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) is seeking dynamic, motivated, and diverse candidates for part-time faculty positions to engage and educate students. This posting is to create a pool of qualified applicants for Business Instructor positions at LACCD colleges for the 2027 Academic School Year. Successful candidates will collaborate, communicate, and work as professionals with students, staff, faculty, and administrators. Applicants with a demonstrated commitment to teaching and mentoring a diverse student population are strongly encouraged to apply. Qualified applicants may be offered an interview with Business Departmental members at one or more of LACCD’s 9 colleges. Final determination of part-time Business Instructor assignment is contingent upon enrollment, funding, and class availability.

Requirements

  • Master’s in business, business management, business administration, accountancy, finance, marketing, or business education; OR, Bachelor’s in any of the above AND a Master’s in economics, personnel management, public administration, or Juris Doctorate (JD) of Legum Baccalaureus (LLB) degree; OR, Bachelor’s in economics with a business emphasis AND Master’s in personnel management, public administration, or JD or LL.B. degree OR the equivalent.
  • A sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
  • Fully vaccinated or have an approved exemption for COVID-19.
  • Provide vaccination status in compliance with LACCD Board of Trustees’ policy.
  • Provide a medical certificate indicating fitness to instruct or associate with students (at applicant's expense after selection and prior to employment).

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated certification in Blackboard, Canvas, or Course Compass or other online modalities may be given preference.

Responsibilities

  • Teach any of the Business, Business Law, Finance, Insurance, Marketing, Management, Supervision, and International Business within the Business discipline.
  • Promote engaging and inclusive educational environments that support student learning.
  • Be culturally responsive in interactions with students, faculty, staff, and community members who span a diverse range of languages, nationalities and ethnicities, socio-economic levels, ages, identities, abilities, and educational experiences.
  • Conduct classes in a virtual learning environment using Canvas or other methods of remote learning, and alternative work settings, if required.

Benefits

  • Salary schedule for adjunct instructors begins at $86.85 per standard hour.
  • Office hour differential of $20.32 per hour for classroom assignments.
  • Applicants with a doctoral degree are eligible for a doctoral differential.
