About The Position

Midland College is hiring a part-time adjunct instructor for its Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration (AHRT) Program. The instructor provides support to the dean and students, develops and teaches AHRT courses, and works with local industry representatives to support the program and enhance instructional resources. The role includes facilitating student and industry support services related to school-to-work, high school, and cooperative learning activities, as well as participating in advisory committee meetings, recruiting, and advising. Work may involve a split workday and evening schedule. All Midland College positions are security-sensitive, and employment offers are contingent on a satisfactory criminal background investigation.

Requirements

Associate’s degree in a related field.
Three to five years of experience in the industry.
Computer literacy, including knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of equipment related to the program of study.

Responsibilities

Facilitate and coordinate support services for students and industry regarding school-to-work, high school, and cooperative learning activities.
Attend advisory committee meetings.
Participate in recruiting and advising activities.
Develop and teach courses offered in the Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration (AHRT) Program.
Prepare and communicate clear educational objectives while presenting current and accurate course content to students.
Work with representatives of local industry to further the program and enhance instructional resources.
Perform other duties as assigned.
