About The Position

Mecademic develops compact, high-precision, and innovative robotic automation solutions for the electronics and life sciences sectors. Our ultra-compact robotic arms are used worldwide by OEMs, system integrators, and end-users for tasks requiring precision and reliability in automation. As our on-site HR contact, you will play a versatile role in the daily management of our HR and administrative activities in Quebec. Working in close collaboration with the HR Manager, you will serve as the primary on-site point of contact for our employees and ensure internal processes run smoothly.

Requirements

  • Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in Human Resources, Administration, Management, or a related field.
  • First successful experience in a similar role (internship or entry-level position).
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and office tools, with strong working knowledge of spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets).
  • Tech-savvy with ideal exposure to applicant tracking systems (ATS) or HRIS tools.
  • Fluency in French and a strong command of English (spoken and written) to communicate effectively with employees and assist with document translation.
  • Ability to work independently with remote management.
  • Strong sense of initiative and ease with context-switching according to operational priorities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, priority management, and utmost discretion.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada (citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work permit)

Responsibilities

  • Maintain employee files and HRIS, draft HR correspondence, track employee benefit plans (insurance, RRSP), and update organizational charts.
  • Support recruitment stages (sourcing, job postings, initial screenings, interview logistics) and coordinate on-site onboarding for new hires.
  • Support the updating of company policies (drafting and translation).
  • Basic monitoring of employment laws and regulations.
  • Administrative tracking of training activities (data entry, invoicing, logistics, and annual reporting).
  • Greet visitors, manage bookings, assist with corporate events (trade shows, career fairs), and provide ad-hoc support on various administrative tasks.
