Acute Dialysis Registered Nurse - Nocturnal On-Call
About The Position
DaVita is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide dialysis care to patients with end-stage renal disease and chronic kidney conditions in hospital settings. This fast-paced, collaborative role involves working with patients in ICU, CCU, ED, and other acute care units across hospitals in Santa Clara, Burlingame, San Jose, and San Mateo. It is a full-time nocturnal on-call position with 3–4 shifts per week beginning at 6 p.m.; shifts are guaranteed to be at least 8 hours. The schedule includes regular and on-call shifts, rotated weekends, and holidays. Daily schedules may change according to patient needs, and nurses may rotate between facilities. The nurse delivers inpatient dialysis therapies, including hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, CRRT, and apheresis; collaborates with hospital teams and DaVita clinical staff; monitors patients and adjusts treatment; and supports and oversees patient care with the help of PCTs. Prior dialysis experience is required for this acute RN role. The posting also states that paid training is provided. Full vaccination against COVID-19 may be required by hospitals in the program, potentially including a booster when eligible.
Requirements
- Current RN license in the state of practice.
- Prior dialysis experience is required for this acute RN role.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
- Must pass a color vision test; accommodations are available.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- ICU, CCU, ER, or Med/Surg experience is helpful but not required.
- CNN/CDN certification preferred.
