About The Position

The Acute Care Technician works on the 6300 Medical-Surgical Unit at TriHealth Bethesda North Hospital, a 41-bed unit caring for orthopedic, neurosurgery, and trauma patients, including people recovering from joint replacement, hip fractures, and spinal surgery. The position supports basic patient care under RN supervision in a fast-paced, team-centered environment focused on communication, safety, and patient-centered care. The role also supports unit operations and maintains a clean, safe environment. The technician is expected to communicate respectfully with patients, families, and colleagues, document observations accurately, report concerns promptly, and contribute to personal and team development. The unit emphasizes collaboration, continuing learning, and professional growth. This is a full-time day-shift position at TriHealth Bethesda North Hospital in Montgomery, Ohio. The schedule is 72 hours bi-weekly, 6:30 a.m.–7:00 p.m., with every-third-weekend and holiday rotations.

Requirements

At least two years of high school education.
Age 17 with a work permit.
Basic Life Support (BLS).
Reading and math ability appropriate to the position.

Nice To Haves

Experience as an STNA, PCA, or ACT is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform and document basic patient care tasks under RN supervision; maintain competency in trained skills, complete assignments on time, and seek clarification when needed.
Maintain a safe, clean environment by reporting hazards, following infection-control policies, completing safety-event reports, and adhering to safety and emergency procedures.
Communicate effectively and respectfully with patients, families, and team members; promptly report patient information and assignment issues; document observations accurately; collaborate with the healthcare team; and use the chain of command appropriately.
Support unit operations through supply, equipment, and environmental tasks; report shortages or equipment problems and ensure supplies and equipment are ready for the next user.
Demonstrate accountability and commitment to self-growth, identify areas for improvement, and support organizational and unit changes.
