Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant – General Inpatient Cardiology - Night Shift, Part - Time

Wellstar Medical Group is seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (ACNP or PA) to join our inpatient general cardiology team at Kennestone Hospital. This part-time night shift position offers 0.6 FTE, comprising two shifts per week. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality care to general cardiology patients in the inpatient setting, collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Requirements
- Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) with certification
- Current ACLS certification required.
- Strong clinical judgment, effective communication skills, and the ability to manage complex cardiovascular patients.
- Ability to work independently and maintain professionalism during night shifts.
Nice To Haves
- experience in cardiology or related acute inpatient care preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years inpatient clinical experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive clinical care for hospitalized patients with a broad range of cardiovascular conditions.
- Perform patient assessments, develop and implement care plans, and monitor treatment effectiveness.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, adjust medications, and provide patient education as appropriate.
- Collaborate with the cardiology physician team and other disciplines to coordinate care and facilitate smooth transitions.
- Document clinical encounters accurately and thoroughly in the electronic medical record system (EPIC).
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to institutional policies and clinical guidelines.
- Work independently during night shifts while maintaining clear communication with on-call physicians and the care team.
