About The Position

The Actuarial Summer Internship Program at Protective is a 9-week program designed for high-performing college students. It offers hands-on experience in the actuarial field, personal mentoring, and insight into business operations. Interns will collaborate with business leaders on real-world problems, participate in community and professional development events, and gain valuable work experience. Requirements

Actively enrolled in an Undergraduate or Graduate degree program as of May 31st, 2027.
Majors in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Finance, or similar fields.
Upper-Level Mathematics, Finance, and/or Actuarial Science courses preferred.
Completion of at least one actuarial exam is highly preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Strong problem-solving skills.
Positive attitude and the ability to learn quickly.

Nice To Haves

Undergraduate (Juniors and Seniors preferred) or Graduate students.
Experience with SQL, VBA, C++, or similar coding languages is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assigned to projects that align with the Actuarial team's goals, providing hands-on experience and applying academic knowledge to real-world business challenges.
Work closely with teams to deliver impactful results.
Attend workshops and training sessions focused on enhancing professional skills, such as resume building, interview techniques, leadership development, and industry-specific knowledge.
Interact with company leaders through formal and informal events.
Collaborate with peers from different departments.
Participate in regular one-on-one meetings with mentors to discuss progress, challenges, and career aspirations.
