About The Position

Canada Life, one of Canada’s leading life insurance and financial services companies, is seeking Actuarial Students with strong achievements in their academic studies and professional actuarial exams. This program is aimed at applicants currently enrolled in a post-secondary program, who will be returning to school after their work term. This is a student position that is 4 months in duration and will begin on Aug 31, 2026. This is a hybrid role located at our London head office - the successful applicant will be required to work in person in London 3 days per week. Applicants are required to submit both their resume and their most recent unofficial transcript as part of the application process. As an Actuarial Student you are a key member of a highly respected, professional, actuarial team and will have an opportunity to work in one of the following possible areas: Pricing & Product Development, Valuation, Enterprise Risk Management, Reinsurance, Marketing, Risk Research, Corporate Actuarial, Internal Audit.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program, who will be returning to school after their work term.
  • Working towards a University degree, preferably with a major in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance or Statistics.
  • Strong achievements in academic studies. Please include a copy of your most-recent transcript with your application.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the actuarial field through successful completion of professional actuarial exams, an actuarial education, or similar.
  • Innovative problem-solver.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Well organized, delivering accurate work with an attention to detail, in a timely manner.
  • Team player who is also comfortable working independently.

Nice To Haves

  • Excel, Word, VBA, MS Access and Moody’s AXIS experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge or interest in market risk, investments, and life insurance/reinsurance.
