About The Position

First Chicago Insurance Company is seeking an eager, ambitious, and diligent intern to join its Product & Actuarial Analysis department. The role offers a college student hands-on business experience and exposure to insurance terminology, concepts, and a variety of Product/Actuarial projects and techniques. The intern may work with insurance products including Non-Standard Auto, Commercial Auto, and General Liability.

Requirements

• Pursuing a degree in Actuarial Science, Math/Statistics, Economics, Finance, or another related field.
• Cumulative grade point average of 3.0 (out of 4.0) or better.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to work 40 hours a week.
• Willingness to work part-time during the school year.
• Must be able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

• SOA/CAS exams are a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with new product development, including competitive rate comparisons and other competitive studies.
• Create supporting exhibits and prepare filings for submission to the department of insurance to satisfy state regulatory requirements.
• Complete data preparation and reserve reviews on various lines of business.
• Create and update monthly and quarterly financial reports.
