About The Position

Amica’s Lincoln, Rhode Island office is seeking a student intern for Summer 2027. The intern will gain hands-on actuarial experience by working with team members on analytical projects similar to those handled by an entry-level actuarial analyst. The internship program offers a collaborative, cross-functional environment, opportunities to learn in the intern’s field of study, team-building exercises, and company-wide events.

The position is scheduled for 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, during the summer months. Work from home may be available one day per week after the intern is trained to work independently.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field, and continuing undergraduate studies in the Fall.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with programming and data querying.
• Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Successful completion of at least one CAS/SOA exam.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with experienced actuaries in developing and reviewing actuarial procedures.
• Research filings and report on emerging industry trends.
• Collect and analyze data for company reports.
• Prepare and verify factors and data used in rate analyses.
