About The Position

Hawley Senior Living is seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate, and creative Activity Director to bring meaningful experiences and connection to its assisted living and dementia care community. The role focuses on planning engaging activities that support residents’ purpose, dignity, connection, and quality of life, while recognizing their abilities, interests, and life stories. The Activity Director works with residents, families, volunteers, schools, community partners, and the care team.

Requirements

• Genuinely loves working with seniors, including people living with dementia.
• Is creative, energetic, patient, compassionate, and organized.
• Can lead group activities and create meaningful one-on-one experiences.
• Understands that activities support purpose, dignity, connection, and quality of life.
• Can develop calendars, coordinate events, maintain documentation, and collaborate with the care team.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in senior living, recreation, activities, or dementia care.

Responsibilities

• Plan activities, crafts, games, celebrations, and special events.
• Lead music, movement, sing-alongs, and other group activities.
• Create dementia-friendly experiences that celebrate residents’ abilities, interests, and life stories.
• Make birthdays, holidays, and everyday milestones special.
• Build relationships with families, volunteers, schools, and community partners.
• Help residents feel valued, included, and respected.
• Develop activity calendars, coordinate events, and maintain documentation.
• Collaborate with the care team.
• Create meaningful one-on-one experiences for residents.
