About The Position

Bedford Falls is seeking an Activity Director to coordinate, implement, and evaluate its assisted living program to enhance residents’ experiences. The role develops and maintains relationships with community organizations, residents, and families, and oversees activity staff and the Van Driver in coordinating programs based on resident interests. The director develops a varied and innovative activity program within the community.

The position follows a Monday–Friday schedule and participates in a Manager on Duty rotation. The listed salary is $67,000.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and knowledge of aging and disability issues.
• Experience and training qualifying the candidate to develop programs appropriate for elders and people with disabilities.
• Management and leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Implement events and programs that enhance the assisted living experience and improve residents’ quality of life.
• Evaluate programs to ensure their quality and suitability for residents’ needs.
• Develop an engaging, innovative seven-day-a-week activity program for all residents.
• Provide consistent monthly family-centered programming to encourage participation and ease scheduling.
• Lead and implement one-on-one, small-group, and large-group programming according to the programming schedule.
• Support, encourage, and direct independent program pursuits, individually and in small groups.
• Support residents’ abilities by recognizing that all aspects of care can be viewed as an activity.
• Produce an online and printable monthly newsletter and calendar, as well as a daily activity calendar, on time through Benchmark’s internal social media website.
• Manage and support programming associates, including transportation and the community Van Driver.
• Develop, maintain, and cultivate relationships with community organizations, residents, and families.
