About The Position

Hermitage Care & Rehabilitation Center is a 92-bed skilled nursing facility in Owensboro, Kentucky, specializing in short-term rehabilitation and long-term nursing care. The facility provides inpatient and outpatient physical, occupational, and speech therapy. It is part of Signature HealthCARE, which offers integrated care services across multiple states, including skilled nursing, rehabilitation, assisted and memory care, and home-based services.

The Activities Staff member assists with planning and delivering activities that address residents’ social, emotional, physical, and therapeutic needs. The role supports activities inside and outside the facility, provides in-room activities for residents who cannot attend events, helps maintain an ongoing activity calendar, and contributes to scheduling and documentation in accordance with state standards. The position also involves seeking community participation in facility activities and events.

Requirements

• Skilled at working with individuals who have cognitive, physical, or sensory disabilities.

Nice To Haves

• Previous activities or healthcare experience is preferred but not required.
• CNA certification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities that meet residents’ social, emotional, physical, and other therapeutic needs.
• Assist in initiating and promoting activities within and outside the facility.
• Provide in-room activities for residents unable to attend daily events.
• Assist in creating an ongoing calendar of activities.
• Meet state standards for activity scheduling and documentation.
• Solicit community involvement when planning facility activities and events.
